CCJ - Jie

Bending skill: Jie can make small little flames that look like butterflies. They flitter about at a rather slow speed and get smaller until they vanish. The longest one has lasted was 10 seconds.
Personality: Happy most of the time, Jie tries her best to stay optimistic. Although trustworthy in the sense she would do anything on purpose to backstab anyone, she’s too trusting in others. She’s a bit naïve and sometimes a space cadet, zoning out whether thinking about something or nothing at all is a mystery to most.
Their Past: Jie’s father was a fire bending soldier. He was on board a ship that was transporting cargo when it got caught up in a storm. The ship ended up wrecked upon the shores in the north. A small water tribe village, who kept themselves separate from the rest of the nation in the north, found the wrecked ship and tried to help the survivors. Jie’s mother was not a bender, but did help to take care of the wounded soldier. She fell in love with him and then certain events happened. Jie’s mother became pregnant but, knowing the man she fell in love with was going to return home she didn’t say anything and let him leave.
Jie was born and raised in the village not having ever known anything about her father. When she showed signs of being able to bend fire, the villagers didn’t know what to do with her. A water bender in the village tried to help her, but because of the differences in techniques was unable to help her. As Jie got older the water bender suggested that she go to JingDou to find someone who could teach her properly.
As she traveled to JingDou she worked as a street performer to earn money for food. She danced a bit and did little things with her butterfly fire, which she enjoyed because it made the people she met in passing happy.
Their Present: After arriving in JingDou, she had no idea where to go. The city being so big, she had no clue where to go. She had to ask around and found she had three choices really as where to go, Raikoke, Ashbirds and Jinhai. After lots of sitting around just thinking where to go as she weighed the good and bad of each gang, from what she had heard anyways, she chose Jinhai. She had heard the leader could bend both fire and water, and out of fascination of wanting to see how she could do such a thing, chose Jinhai.
Their Future: Having enjoyed making people smile on her tavels, Jie wants to continue traveling when she gets better at fire bending. She wants to find a way to fire bend so that she can use it to tell stories about her experiences both in JingDou and on her travels.
Other notes: Having grown up in a small village, Jie has never really been in a big city for very long and thus gets lost easily in the city.
Jie sometimes ignores the rules of personal space and will randomly hug or cling to people. She believes that hugs make people happy, even if they don’t show it.}
